Oscar
"Animal". A
good old fashion catholic boy that turns into an animal when he gets behind
the drums.A merciless psycho drum killa Mutha... He started skateboarding at the age of 16, he also loved hip hop, but like all musicians, he started to like different types of sounds and genres. His biggest influences are Rush, Prodigy, Dream Theater, Pantera, Erik-B & Rakim, Sepultura, Public Enemy, and more... His specialty is live drum'n bass, not electronically done, just with a couple of sticks, da drum set and that's it. He creates the best hip hop drum'n bass hard-core sounds that you ever heard... |

"El Guapo". Coming
from a hip hop background, he comes from a different time, though. A time
when Cypress Hill, Pharcyde, Gran'd Puba, Leaders of the New School,
and some others were around. He started taking guitar lessons at 16, and
he fell in love with his guitar, a guitar he named "Aurora".
He made a 360° and went from hip hop to classic rock, consequently,
he also loves Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Doors, and some other
great classic rock bands. That is what makes him know how hip hop and great music should sound, like the great mixture that only exists in this guy's mind. A great mixture that takes part of his Gran'd Plan. Fernando "El Rojo (The Red One)". He
grew up being a lonely kid, almost without any friends, and obviously,
he went for the dark, heavy, and gothic type of music. At first he started
listening to bands like The Clash, Bauhaus, The Cure, Pixies and Misfits;
then he turned into Sonic Youth, Primus, and Red Hat Chili Peppers,
later he liked ska, swing and bossanova, but at the end of the road there
was Gran'd Plan. After being influenced by such great bands, who would have thought that he was going to end up playing in an experimental hip hop band? Not trying to diminish hip hop, but hip hop is very easy to create; what this guy and the rest of the band are trying to do is to mix hardworking music into the hip hop genre. Fernie would like to thank Cliff Burton from Metallica, wherever he is, for being the reason why he became a bass player. Ruy "Merolico".
Born in 1971, he comes from a hip hop background, back in the day
when Grandmaster Flash, Whodini, Boogie Down Productions, T la Rock
and others, were on top of the Hip Hop Underground Scene. This guy knows what rappin' it's all about, none of that O. G. bull shit or none of that bouncing wick wick wack stuff that comes in and out, just straight out knowledge put in to great aggressive tracks. You will see how Chuk-D and KRS have influenced this guy, even though he is Mexican. If you understand Spanish, you will be able to see how powerful and full of sense his lyrics are. He also speaks English, so maybe in the future you will be able to hear his powerful lyrics in your language. Merolico, one of the best's out there... |
